"MIGRÄNE is a videoinstallation with sound to be shown in a dark box. One wall of the box should be at least 3 meters long. On this side of the box, the video is projected. Speakers are attached on the other walls.
MIGRÄNE shows iron-lattice moved by a storm. Because of the windforce the bars seem to flimmer. A digital effect strengthens this natural vibration: the complete videopicture is embraced into the movement.
Sound develops parallel to the movement of the picture. It is caused by an approaching and withdrawing noise of a wooden stick knocked on the bars while walking along the lattice ...
For the installation MIGRÄNE formal conditions like the exhibition space (narrow small not to high) and the technical equipment (Dolby Surround) are important, because the artistic concept depends on the atmosphere of the exhibitionroom. Another important element of this installation is that locality of presentation, acoustic 'space' and visual motif overlap in their definition of SPACE, that they fall/ get together and re-become distant.
By using the videoloop the exhibition space gets as timeless as the video itself. Sound and image build a correlation without spacial and temporal assign. The movements dynamic is constituated between repetition and instance..."
