"Oy Vey!
I have had a migraine ALL DAY!
Went for first appt for Physical Therapy. Took imitrex, but it only mildly detracted.
Can't seem to shake it!
GRRRR"
(fatillusions's LifeJournal, September 7, 2006)
"I have attached another digital art picture I created to represent the actual way the I feel when I have a migraine. I feel like parts of my head have giant screws pressing inward. My eye feels like it is going to explode with pain. And the side of my face feels like it is being pulled down.
I have a few other pictures representative of migraine, if you are interested in seeing them. I would be glad to send them to you to look at and consider for your site."

"All of the pictures I have created are digital art. They started out as photographs and I have altered them with a computer program to make them express my feelings."

"This one represents that sense of not entirely being connected with the world, and the sense of déjà vu that I experience sometimes with my auras. This is one of the pleasant experiences I have with an aura. I will see things that are not there and have a sense of having psychic visions of ghostly apparitions. Sometimes it feels as though I can communicate telepathically when I am like this. During these times it is difficult to concentrate or focus my attention on tasks, and I am in a dreamy state. This can last for hours, or temporary episodes will occur throughout a day interfering with getting things done. But, I rather enjoy these as long as I don't have to bother to respond to others during these times. I do not have enough presence of mind to realize that a migraine may be on the way, and forget to take any medicine until it is too late."

"This is the intense feeling of a burning poker pushed into my eye that is so overwhelming it can only be experienced to the point where nothing else exists but the pain."

"This is the closest facsimile I can produce to represent that curtain of shimmering light that occasionally takes over my vision. I have tried for years to draw this phenomena, paint it or render it with digitization. Sometimes it is directly related to a painful migraine almost immediately, sometimes it only presents itself without any migraine. Perhap this is because I rush to take my medicine now when I experience it. I had migraines for years before I ever had this type of aura. the first time it happened I thought my retina had become detached. One time it came upon me so quickly while shopping, I walked right into a display. I do not have full vision when I have this type of aura."

"This migraine has lasted too many days. The intensity is gone, but I can only hide in the darkness. Still, this is not so bad, because I can feel closer to being human. The pain has moved into the whole side of my face and somewhat into the other side. Part of my face feels cold as though a chill wind could blow through it. I feel sad, and relieved it is over."

"There's the headache already in progress. Light is unbearable and feels like everything is a sickening haze of desert sunset all around me, making my mind feel like fog. I feel like my head is shrinking into a small hard ball due to the pressure. I am feeling very nauseated and view myself as a unstable as everything seems to be moving in waves."
