"Yesterday I developed a typical (for me) aura, following a day which pretty much pre-empted my attack i.e. with constipation, food cravings (chocolate and bread) and extreme tiredness.

However, as I experienced the aura (I don't get the headache part, thank goodness), I was overwhelmed with what can only be described as total euphoria... I think people around me thought I was drunk, as I smiled, eyes glazed, waved at dogs, and generally felt very warm and fuzzy inside, in spite of the rainbow crescent in my vision... it was great, and totally different to the usual dissasociative feeling I get with the aura.

What was that all about, and does anyone else have this symptom?!

"Not long enough!

About 20 mins, but it made the migraine a lot more bearable while it lasted.

When I'm feeling more 'with it', I will draw you a picture of the pretty colours (!), and email an attachment to you.

"Hello again, I'm feeling a bit more 'with it' now!

As you can see, the aura takes on the colours from the surrounding area, but blurrs them into a crescent-shape in the visual field. It shimmers and moves like oil on a puddle... I think this picture is a pretty accurate depiction of what I 'see' during an attack.

Thanks very much for all of your time and input - I feel it's so important for sufferers to see that they are not alone, and whilst 'comparing notes', it's a relief to know we are not alone in our symptoms."
