"I enjoyed your website. I have had aura symtoms for a long time. The earliest scintillating scotoma was in 79. I never knew other symptoms were related. I used to get snow and bad headaches in High School 1962-66. Anyway, in the 80s I wrote a bunch of songs. One of them was inspired by strange aura symptoms. It is called 'Wake Up In A Dream'. The auras are very personal and hard to explain, especially the ones that surface long forgotten memories. I am still learning to observe everything that happens. I attached the song. Thanks."

Wake Up In A Dream

By Pete Capozzoli (1985)

Do we know reality?
Are we awake or asleep?
Do eyes open, even when they close?
Is there a secret that somebody knows?
When I'm asleep I walk through doors
And then I rise 100 floors
And I'm flying high above a redwood tree
And then I'm diving to the bottom of the sea

There's so much you haven't seen
Till you Wake Up In A Dream
So much to life you can't believe
A brand new point of view is waiting for you
There's so much you haven't seen
Till you Wake Up In A Dream
Wake Up In A Dream (2x)...

Can we expand what we perceive?
Or are we slaves to our beliefs?
Is there a more important reason for the night?
Like a subtle more hidden side of life?
When I'm asleep I move through time
I see a childhood friend of mine
I race forward till they day they bury me
When I dissolve into the light eternally

There's so much you haven't seen
Till you Wake Up In A Dream
So much to life you can't believe
A brand new point of view is waiting for you
There's so much you haven't seen
Till you Wake Up In A Dream
Wake Up In A Dream (2x)...

"Klaus: ok, you can link it. I don't have a website with all my songs. I am not into linking. I will work a short write-up on the background of the song so you can use it. As you know, songwriters many times take their personal thoughts/experiences and disguise them in some broader universal theme. At the time I wrote the song, I never knew anyone had what I had. I have always been interested in the relationship of the subconscious and what constitutes reality. Whether they are dreams or auras, they are part of our experience and therefore, reality. What purpose do they serve? Do these states of mind hold secrets? I have had vivid dreams while having migraine/aura symptoms, some of which were long forgotten memories or feelings... how I felt at some time that feels very familiar. It always feels like I am dissolving into the light (even when my eyes are closed since I can still 'see' the aura). When I have them, it is like seeing an old friend or a familiar place from a long time ago. I'll work on an explanation. And if you are wondering... 'No, I never took drugs!'"
