Exercise

Exercise is another worsening factor of the intensity of persistent aura symptoms that has previously been described as trigger factor of migraine (Kinsella and Martin, 1990; Nadelson, 2006). Similarly, Imes and Hoyt (1989) observed exercise-induced transient visual events probably representing attacks of migraine aura without headache.

Definite persistent aura without infarction

"It has changed a little over time and seems to be worse when she... exercises."

(C [father of subject #30], Rondas Migraine Page – Migrainepage Discussion Forum - "Persistent Migraine Aura", July 20, 2005)

"Exercise also makes my vision worse."

(schimdog [subject #52], The Neurology and Neurosurgery Forum, Topic: Neurology – General, Subject: visual disturbances, January 11, 2006)

"Exercise ... makes these symptoms worse."

(schimdog [subject #52], Ezboard Forum Visual snow or static – Discussion – Sticky: survey responses, January 18, 2006)

"There are no triggers for my vision problems, however lack of sleep and exercise make them worse, along with anxiety"

(schimdog [subject #52], Email to Sofia Greene, April 7, 2006)

"My vision appears to be temporarly worse during and after excercise and after waking up in the morning."

(starrant [subject #138], Ezboard forum Visual snow or static – Discussion - Impact of sports?, August 24, 2006)

Probable persistent aura without infarction

"It seems harder for me to practice vocals, especially blasting out notes. When I sing, I start feeling dizzy and my vision gets worse, especially lights and scotomas."

(ohCRICKETS [subject #433], Yuku forum Visual snow or static - General discussion - Singing = Dizziness, lights, December 13, 2007)

"I also feel that the vs gets worse during exercise."

(ukshell [subject #532], Yuku forum Visual snow or static - General discussion - New girl in the UK, February 29, 2008)
