Tiredness, fatigue, lack of sleep

Tiredness, fatigue and lack of sleep can worsen the intensity of persistent aura symptoms. Fatigue and lack of sleep have also been reported as trigger factors of migraine and tension-type headache (Spierings et al., 2001).

"All I can say to everyone with this problem is this: the only thing that makes it worse (worse means for me the days I'm bothered by it and can't look next to it) is: stress and not enough sleep!!! -notice: stress and less sleep is what makes it worse, not what is causing it."

(schimdog [subject #52], Email to Sofia Greene, April 7, 2006)

"If I'm tired, it happens more frequently."

Probable persistent aura without infarction

"I never had a sleep problem until I got sick. I could sleep 8 hours+ with no problem. After I started getting sick sleep was a major issue (2-4 hours a night even with Ambien) and the lack of sleep made the symptoms worse."
