Sexual activity

Probable persistent aura without infarction

Scarlett Agricola (subject #37) observed that "the dots and what I've seen called an aura gets worse after sexual activity" from childhood masturbation on. "All eye symptoms are worse after masturbation or sex", she reported, "I have recently discontinued all sexual activity because of the severity of so-called eye problems/snow vision/blackouts." She explained: "I feel the answer lies within holistic healing. There is a doctor at www.herballove.com. He claims to have a reason and answer for the dots that revolves around what he calls sexual exhaustion. I believe that people who sexually exhaust themselves as I have (only admitting that for medical purposes) mess up their body chemistry by using up chemicals their body needs and building up excess amounts of other chemicals."

Possible persistent aura without infarction

Rodymu aka mikemanner (subject #3), a 38-year-old Dutch male sufferer from possible persistent aura (MAS score = 1), wrote: "Some of my symptoms are immediately aggravated after ejaculation or by masturbation. For instance, after ejaculation my feet start to burn, I get a burning feeling in my neck and become dizzy. At times my vision immediately gets worse. That is, the double vision gets worse and my eyes become painful. Most of the time, the visual disturbance progresses over a period of 2 to 3 days and then stabilises before improvement occurs. ... Using my childhood migraines as a reference point, I can recall that, at a later age, the attacks were accompanied with a strange massive tingling in one hand. Also, I felt there was a relationship between ejaculation and how my eyes already felt before the visual disturbances were present."

The responses of another participant in Sofia Greene's internet survey (subject #10) were excluded from further analysis because there was no statement as regards the duration of his "long term" visual disturbances which are: "Always there, no matter what... looking at a blue sky I see sparks (I was told tiny blood cells moving through veins is what I'm seeing) and also I have floaters". Among other triggers for his visual problems, the 24 year old white Caucasian male mentions "sexual activity": "You may be interested in the concept of post orgasmic stress. As this is a sophisticated email I will be pg [parental guidance], but I used to masturbate heavily... 2-3 times a day, 7 days a week from the age of 12 ... take a look at this site, basically sexual burnout is what they propose... just thought this was valuable information as migraines are all about over- stimulation of the brain."

Further observations from miscellaneous internet sites

"Hi, I'm 18 years old and I masturbate more than twice a day. For the last few months I have been having regular headaches that my neurologist said to be tension type headache. My headaches are a lot better than they used to be now, although I still have bad visual disturbances. I see 'visual snow' against white backgrounds and the sky, I also get a lot of severe floaters. Is there anything I can do? Will stopping masturbation help to get rid of the visual snow and floaters? Please help! Many thanks."

"well I think visual snow and buzzing in the ears are all related to masturbating... I guess some ppl are unlucky.. I've have fuzzy vision and buzzing for 3 yrs now... I remember I first got buzzing when I was masturbating.... I've tried quitting masturbating but have never gone more than 2 weeks..."

"Quote: Moreover, a variety of illnesses (e.g. Lyme disease, auto-immune disease) or nocious events (e.g. excessive masturbation, prolonged use of a VDU, dehydration, over-acidification) [have been blamed by sufferers in self-help internet forums as causes of persisting visual snow, but none of these claims have been supported by evidence-based medicine.]

That's from the Wikipedia website [see here], gosh, excessive masturbation creating visual snow.

Prolonged use of Visual Display Unit, I'm in!

In fact, I get DR if I watch too much porn for a long time in front of my PC screen, I've found my problem! Hahahah"
